- We measure visits with Simple Analytics, without cookies and without personal data.
- The website is delivered via Cloudflare, which processes the connection data needed to deliver it.
- Some pages embed a Google Maps map.
- Bookings do not happen on our website but on the provider's website, for example Headout.
3. Hosting and delivery via Cloudflare
This website is delivered via Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you visit the website, Cloudflare processes the technical data needed to show the pages quickly, securely and reliably, in particular your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested, browser and operating system details and the referring page. Cloudflare also uses this data to block attacks and abuse.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the secure and efficient operation of the website. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has adopted an adequacy decision. A data processing agreement is in place with Cloudflare. More information: Cloudflare privacy policy.
4. Analytics with Simple Analytics
We use Simple Analytics (Simple Analytics B.V., Hooftlaan 4, 1401 ED Bussum, Netherlands) to understand which pages are visited and how often. Simple Analytics does not set cookies, does not store IP addresses and does not create user profiles. It only records anonymous, aggregated values such as the page visited, the referring website, country, device type and browser. It cannot identify you. If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal, your visit is not recorded at all.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is improving our content. More information: Simple Analytics privacy policy.
5. Google Maps
Some pages embed a map from Google Maps (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). When the map loads, your browser connects to Google's servers, and in particular your IP address and the page you visited are sent to Google, possibly also to servers in the USA. Google may set its own cookies. We have no influence on this processing.
We use Google Maps to show you where the Acropolis and its entrances are. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. More information: Google privacy policy.
6. Links to Headout and other providers (affiliate links)
Some links on this website lead to booking pages of Headout (Headout Inc.) and are affiliate links. If you click such a link and then book, we earn a commission. The price you pay stays the same. When you click, you leave our website; the link contains a partner ID so that Headout can attribute the booking to us. For the data Headout processes on its own website, for example when you book, please see the Headout privacy policy. The operator of each external website is responsible for the processing on that website.
7. Contacting us by email
If you email us, we process your email address and the information in your message to answer your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual requests. We delete the data once your request has been dealt with, unless we are legally required to keep it.
8. Cookies
This website itself does not set cookies and does not store anything in your browser. Cookies can only be set by embedded third-party content (see Google Maps) or by external websites you visit through a link.
9. Your rights
You have the right of access to the data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification (Art. 16), to erasure (Art. 17), to restriction of processing (Art. 18) and to data portability (Art. 20). Where we process data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you can object to the processing on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21). Simply send us an email.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the country where you live.
10. Security
The entire website is delivered over encrypted HTTPS connections only.
11. Changes
We update this privacy policy when the website or the legal requirements change. The version published here applies.
